Baltimore resident Dontay Maurice Fitzgerald, 45, has been identified and arrested in connection to the shooting, which resulted in the death of 31-year-old Yant Junior Gomez last month.

Officers from the agency were called at around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 to 7000 Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover, to investigate a reported shooting that had just taken place in the area.

Upon arrival, officers were directed to the back of the nearest movie theater, where they found Gomez suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Life-saving measures were performed by first responders until Anne Arundel County Fire personnel to rush Gomez to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

The Harlem resident died while on the way to the hospital.

On Friday, authorities announced that an arrest warrant was applied for and granted charging Fitzgerald with the homicide, and he was arrested on Oct. 18.

No motive for the shooting has been released.

It remains under investigation.
